Custom Aquarium Design

We offer a full design, planning, delivery and build service for aquariums of all sizes.  Not everyone wants to buying a prebuilt aquarium, some prefer a custom built solution designed to their specific requirements. 

We can design simple tanks to exacting requirements for you to simply install yourself.  Or, we will come and install it for you.  Cabinets and stands can also be designed, built and delivered, as can integrated lighting solutions.

Whatever your budget or needs, Marine Life can supply the expertise to give you the custom aquarium you have always dreamt of.

Aquarium Maintenance Services

Not everyone wants to maintain their own marine aquarium.  Marine Life offer a full maintenance and cleaning service for aquariums of all sizes.

We can perform one-off ad-hoc maintenance or to the preference of most of our customers we will visit at prearranged schedules and perform routine (or complex!) tasks to ensure your aquarium is kept in optimum condition.

Prices for our services vary, depending on the tasks required, the distance we have to travel, the size of your aquarium and the time maintenance may take.  Contact us to discuss your needs and we will provide a full quotation.

Professional Water Testing

Here at Marine Life we offer a marine aquarium water testing service to help out with your aquarium maintenance whether it is weekly, monthly or an ad-hoc check we are happy to help.  If there is a specific problem with your system we should be able to pinpoint the source through water testing and asking how your system is ran.  We can then offer professional advice and a solution from our knowledgeable staff.

We consider this an essential service especially if you are new to the hobby and need a little guidance.  The advice is always free but we do levy a small charge for the water test purely to cover the cost of the testing equipment we use.  All we require is a sample of water from your aquarium in a sterile container, preferably given to us as quickly as possible after the sample has been taken.

Beginners Hour

If keeping a marine aquarium is something that appeals to you then we offer a free Beginners Hour service by prior arrangement.  Simply tell us when you can come into the shop and we will happily sit down with you and go through all the hardware you will require and what you should prepare for.  We will help you devise your perfect aquarium, give you a single solution with a total cost and and make your journey into the world of marine aquarium keeping as effortless as possible.

The shop can get very busy at times and starting out in saltwater aquariums can lead to a lot of questions, so our Beginners Hour means we can devote time and attention to deliver a first class service.  You can  pop in to see us whenever you want - but the Beginners Hour gives you dedicated time.

Temporary Livestock Holding

If you are a regular customer of Marine Life we are always keen to help.  So, if you need a temporary holding place for your livestock (fish and invertebrates) then we are pleased to be able to offer, by prior arrangement, a livestock holding service.

If your livestock is healthy (we cannot hold diseased livestock and will inspect livestock prior to holding) and are planning a tank change or have an emergency on your hands (not disease, but maybe the dreaded tank burst) then we will hold your livestock without charge for a period of up to 2 weeks.
